Dark circles under the eyes may be hereditary or racial in origin; they are often associated with the negative connotatations of insufficient sleep or taking drugs. Dar circle is a common complaint particularly from people of olive and darker skin. Microscopic examination shows that the real cause of dark circles is due to either: Pigmentation, or Aggregation of bluish blood vessel; creams and lotions cannot remove dark circles; treatments using Fraxel and CuBr lasers remain the most effective solution; lasers are used to remove the pigmentation, followed by the use of anti-pigmentation cream. It is a delicate operation that requires microscopic surgery, care and experience.
