Skin Rejuvenation – Fraxel laser (Fraxel re:pair)

Fraxel re:pair is a new fractional laser technology using CO2 laser; unlike the old CO2 laser that totally removes the first layer of the skin, resulting in u prolong recovery; instead, Fraxel re:pair only partially removes the old skin by a preset percentage of skin coverage; Fraxel re:repair reduces the duration of recovery, discomfort, and post operation redness time by half; yet, the end result is similar. It works by making thousands of microscopic tiny holes, smaller than the size of hairs therefore, there will be swelling and some redness. Patients can wear covering makeups as soon as peeling.

Fraxel re:pair is like all other Fraxel lasers; it rejuvenates skin but the most important feature is tightening of skin, it is immediately visible on completion of Fraxel re:pair treatment. It is the treatment of choice for facial wrinkles and mild lax facial skin.

It is also used to treat severe facial acne scars, where other treatments failed; it performs even better in combination with traditional CO2 laser, treating each acne scar separately under microscope. The aim is to get the best result possible with mostly one treatment and one recovery ; there is less down time and it is cost effective by using the best laser technology available in my experience.

The main feature of Fraxel re:pair is tightening of skin on the face, neck, chest, breasts, abdomen and indeed the whole body skin.  Fraxel re:pair can rejuvenate sun damaged skin, removal of blemishes, capillaries; it can reduce wrinkles, stretch marks and improves severe acne scars where other methods failed. It can also lift mildly droopy breasts. It has much less down time than the old CO2 laser. Usually, only a single treatment is required but the treatment can be repeated if necessary to achieve even better results.
So far, in my opinion, it is the treatment of choice for stretch marks and tightening of skin on any part of the body,
Mostly, only one treatment is required.

There will be a thin film formed over the skin acting like a ‘natural’ bandage which will peel off someday days depending on the depth of laser penetration.* Immediately after the treatment, there may be some spot bleeding; The redness may last a few days to a few weeks depending on how deep the laser is programmed to penetrate the skin in accordance to the skin problem being treated. The good news is that, the post operative recovery has a lot less discomfort and the redness last in much shorter time.
