Basal cell carcinoma(BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma are two most common skin sun cancers. SCC is treated with surgical excision; small superficial BCC can be treated by microcopic CO2 laser with excellent cosmetic result. The idea is to avoid the disfiguring skin graft and freezing treatment which often end up with white patches which may not be cosmetically acceptable to beauty conscious people.
The small early superficial BCC may have little or no mark following CO2 microcopic laser removal; the median depth BCC may have a white patch or small scar which can be treated with laser resurfacing.
Small superfial BCC will recover whereas the larger, and the median depth may take a little longer.
